The system is absurd.
The consequences are no joke.
Here are some websites you can visit to get informed, take action, and make our mockery a little less unsettling.
American Civil Liberties Union - Fighting for our personal freedoms in courts of law.
American Library Association - Supporting free access and operation of our libraries.
Crooked Media - A podcast network founded by former Obama staffers. We especially recommend Pod Save America, What a Day, and Pod Save The People. You can also check out their Fuck Bans Action Plan page to find out how to get involved in the fight against abortion bans, books bans, and bans on gender affirming care. They have also compiled a detailed list of anti-racist information sources and groups that are out there doing the work.
Democracy Now! - Daily independent news that is one hundred percent listener/viewer supported.
FAIR (Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting) - Most news outlets are for-profit enterprises driven by ratings, sponsors, and not much else. This organization is holding them accountable.
National Women's Law Center - Working across the issues that are central to the lives of women and girls.
Planned Parenthood - Advocating for, and providing affordable healthcare to anyone in need, and fighting for bodily autonomy.
Southern Poverty Law Center - Working for racial justice in the Southern United States and beyond.
Sunrise Movement - A youth-led coalition that demands political action on the climate crisis.
USA.gov, Register to Vote - Because, of course.
When we’re ready to take submissions, write for The Flak.
Write for some of these publications. Many of them don’t publish our type of work (though some do), but the list includes publications that address a wide spectrum of topics. We particularly recommend The Weekly Humorist, Flexx Mag, and Funny Times.
